- 3 Large Ripe Mangoes - Approximately 500–600 g Prepared Flesh
- 120 g Rolled Oats
- 1.2 Litres Milk
- 2 Medium Ripe Bananas
- 300 g Plain Yoghurt
- 2 Tablespoons Honey - Optional
- 12 Ice Cubes - Optional
- ½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon - Optional
- Up To 200 ml Cold Water - Optional
Step 1: Prepare The Mangoes
- Wash the mangoes thoroughly under clean running water.
- Place each mango on a chopping board and slice the flesh away from the large central stone.
- Score the flesh into cubes without cutting through the skin, then remove the cubes with a knife or spoon.
- Measure approximately 500–600 g of mango flesh.
- Peel the bananas and cut them into smaller pieces.
If your mangoes are very ripe and juicy, taste a small piece before adding honey. The fruit may provide all the sweetness you need.
Step 2: Blend The Oats
- Add the 120 g of rolled oats to the blender jug.
- Blend for approximately 20–30 seconds, or until the oats resemble a fine powder.
- Stop the blender before opening the lid.
Grinding the oats first helps reduce graininess and creates a smoother Mango Oatmeal Smoothie.
Step 3: Add The Main Ingredients
- Add the prepared mango, chopped bananas, plain yoghurt and milk to the ground oats.
- Add the cinnamon and honey if desired.
- Secure the blender lid firmly before switching it on.
- Blend for 45–90 seconds, depending on your blender, until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
Avoid filling your blender beyond its recommended capacity. If necessary, blend the ingredients in two batches and combine them in a jug afterwards.
Step 4: Adjust The Consistency
- Check the texture after blending. The smoothie should be creamy and pourable rather than watery or excessively thick.
- If it is too thick, add cold water or extra milk, approximately 30–60 ml at a time.
- Blend for another 10–15 seconds after each addition.
- For a thicker drink, add a few extra frozen mango pieces or a small amount of additional banana.
Remember that oats continue absorbing liquid as the smoothie stands. If you are not serving it immediately, aim for a consistency slightly thinner than your preferred final texture.
Step 5: Taste And Perfect The Flavour
- Pour a small amount into a tasting glass.
- Check whether the mango flavour is balanced and the sweetness suits your preference.
- Add a little honey if necessary, or a small squeeze of lime juice for a brighter, tangier flavour.
- Blend for another 5–10 seconds to incorporate any additions.
A delicious Mango Oatmeal Smoothie should allow the mango to shine without being overwhelmed by sweeteners or spices.
Step 6: Serve And Enjoy
- Pour the finished smoothie into six clean glasses.
- Garnish with a few small mango cubes, a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a pinch of finely ground oats.
- Serve immediately while cold and creamy.
For a breakfast-style presentation, serve alongside boiled eggs, wholemeal toast or a small handful of nuts. Your homemade Mango Oatmeal Smoothie is ready to enjoy!
-
🥭 Choose Ripe Mangoes: Use sweet, fully ripe mangoes for the best tropical flavour and natural sweetness.
-
🌾 Blend the Oats First: Grind the rolled oats into a fine powder before adding the other ingredients for a smoother texture.
-
🥛 Adjust the Consistency: Add extra milk or cold water gradually if the smoothie is too thick.
-
🍯 Control the Sweetness: Honey is optional. Taste the smoothie first, as ripe mangoes and bananas may provide enough sweetness.

🧊 Serve Chilled: Use frozen mango or banana for a thicker, colder smoothie without adding too much ice.
-
🌱 Make It Dairy-Free: Substitute the dairy milk and yoghurt with unsweetened plant-based alternatives.
-
⚡ Blend Until Smooth: Blend for approximately 45–90 seconds, depending on your blender, until creamy and evenly combined.
-
❄️ Store Properly: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container at 4°C or below and consume within 24 hours for the best quality.
-
🍹 Serving Size: This recipe serves approximately six people, depending on the glass size.
-
🥗 Nutrition Tip: For a smoothie without added sugar, omit the honey and use unsweetened milk and yoghurt.
