Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender
  • 1 Sharp Kitchen Knife
  • 1 Chopping Board
  • 1 Measuring Cups and Spoons –
  • 1 Small Bowl –
  • 1 Long-Handled Spoon Or Spatula
  • Six Serving Glasses
  • 1 Clean Kitchen Cloth

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Ripe Mango Chunks - Approximately 660 g
  • 3 Cups Whole Milk - 720 ml
  • 3 Cups Vanilla Ice Cream - Approximately 450 g
  • 2–3 Tablespoons Honey Or Sugar - Optional
  • 1 Cup Ice Cubes - Optional
  • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Lemon Or Lime Juice - Optional
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract - Optional
  • ¼ Cup Diced Mango For Garnishing
  • Whipped Cream - Optional

Instructions

Step 1: Select And Prepare The Mangoes

  • - Wash the mangoes thoroughly under clean running water.
  • - Peel the skin using a sharp knife or vegetable peeler.
  • - Slice the flesh away from the central stones, then cut it into small cubes.
  • - Measure four cups of mango chunks and reserve a few pieces for garnishing.
  • - Taste the mangoes before adding any sweetener, as very ripe fruit may need little or no additional sugar.
  • Sweet, fragrant mangoes are essential for a delicious Mango Milkshake. Frozen mango chunks are a convenient alternative when fresh mangoes are unavailable.

Step 2: Chill Your Ingredients

  • - Remove the milk from the refrigerator immediately before blending.
  • - Keep the vanilla ice cream in the freezer until needed.
  • - If desired, refrigerate the serving glasses for approximately 10–15 minutes.
  • - Measure the remaining ingredients so everything is ready to blend.
  • Cold ingredients help create a refreshing milkshake without relying on excessive ice, which can dilute the mango flavour.

Step 3: Blend The Mangoes And Milk

  • - Add the mango chunks to the blender jug.
  • - Pour in approximately two cups of cold milk.
  • - Secure the blender lid firmly.
  • - Blend for 30–60 seconds, or until the mango is thoroughly puréed and no large chunks remain.
  • - Stop the blender before scraping down the sides with a spatula, if necessary.
  • Blending the mango with milk first helps break down the fruit and creates a smoother base for your Mango Milkshake.

Step 4: Add The Vanilla Ice Cream

  • - Add the three cups of vanilla ice cream to the mango mixture.
  • - Pour in the remaining cup of milk.
  • - Add the vanilla extract and optional honey or sugar, if needed.
  • - Blend for another 20–40 seconds until the mixture becomes thick, creamy and evenly coloured.
  • - If the mixture is too thick, add a little more cold milk and blend briefly.
  • Avoid blending longer than necessary. Excessive blending can warm the ingredients and reduce the thick texture of your homemade milkshake.

Step 5: Taste And Adjust The Flavour

  • - Switch off the blender before removing the lid.
  • - Taste a small spoonful of the mixture.
  • - Add a little honey or sugar if the mangoes are not sweet enough.
  • - Add a splash of milk if the consistency is too thick.
  • - If the flavour is excessively sweet, add a small squeeze of lemon or lime juice.
  • Make adjustments gradually. The best Mango Milkshake balances the natural sweetness of ripe mangoes with the creamy richness of milk and ice cream.

Step 6: Pour And Garnish

  • - Pour the finished milkshake into six clean, chilled glasses.
  • - Leave a little space at the top of each glass for optional toppings.
  • - Add a few diced mango pieces to each serving.
  • - Finish with whipped cream or a light dusting of cinnamon, if desired.
  • - Serve immediately while cold and creamy.

Notes

- 🥭 Choose Ripe Mangoes: Use sweet, fragrant mangoes for the best natural flavour and vibrant golden colour.
- 🥛 Use Cold Milk: Chilled whole milk helps create a smooth, refreshing milkshake.
- 🍦 Adjust the Thickness: Add more ice cream for a thicker texture or a little extra milk for a thinner consistency.
- 🍯 Sweeten to Taste: Taste the mangoes before adding honey or sugar, as ripe fruit may already be sweet enough.
- 🧊 Use Ice Sparingly: Frozen mango chunks can keep the drink cold without diluting its flavour.
- 🌀 Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until creamy and evenly combined, avoiding excessive blending.
- 🌱 Try Different Variations: Add banana, coconut milk or strawberries for a delicious twist.
- 🥤 Serve Immediately: Enjoy your Mango Milkshake fresh for the best flavour, texture, and temperature.
- ❄️ Store Safely: Refrigerate leftovers promptly in a covered container at 4°C or below and consume within 24 hours for the best quality.
- ⚠️ Check For Allergies: Use suitable dairy-free alternatives if needed, and check ingredient labels before serving.
