Six Serving Glasses
1 Spatula
1 Colander:
- 3 Large Ripe Mangoes - Approximately 600–750 g Prepared Flesh
- 300 g Strawberries
- 200 g Blueberries
- 100 g Raspberries
- 500 ml Milk
- 300 g Plain Yoghurt
- 1–2 Tablespoons Honey - Optional
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 Cup Ice Cubes - Optional
- 6 Mint Leaves - Optional
Step 1: Prepare The Fruit
- Wash the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries under cool running water, then drain them thoroughly.
- Peel the mangoes, remove the stones and cut the flesh into chunks.
- Remove the strawberry tops and halve any particularly large berries.
- For a colder, thicker smoothie, freeze some of the prepared fruit in advance.
Preparing the ingredients before blending helps everything combine evenly and makes the process quicker.
Step 2: Add The Liquid Ingredients
- Pour approximately 500 ml of milk into the blender jug.
- Add the plain yoghurt.
- Ensure the liquid is added first to help the blades move freely, particularly when using a smaller blender.
For a dairy-free version, use unsweetened plant milk and a suitable plant-based yoghurt.
Step 3: Add The Mango And Berries
- Add the mango chunks, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries to the blender.
- Add the lime juice if you prefer a brighter, tangier flavour.
- Include the ice cubes if you are using fresh fruit and want an extra-cold drink.
The combination of tropical mango and mixed berries gives this Mango Berry Smoothie its distinctive sweet-and-tangy flavour.
Step 4: Blend Until Smooth
- Secure the blender lid firmly.
- Start on a low setting for approximately 10–15 seconds.
- Increase to a higher speed and blend for another 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and evenly coloured.
- Stop the blender before opening the lid to check the consistency.
Blending times vary between appliances. If the mixture is too thick, add milk in small increments of approximately 30 ml and blend again.
Step 5: Taste And Adjust
- Taste the smoothie before adding any sweetener.
- If necessary, add one tablespoon of honey and blend for another 5–10 seconds.
- For a sharper fruit flavour, add a little more lime juice.
- If the smoothie is too thin, add more frozen mango or a few frozen berries and blend again.
The aim is to create a balanced Mango Berry Smoothie that is fruity, creamy and easy to drink without being excessively sweet.
Step 6: Pour And Serve
- Divide the finished smoothie evenly between six glasses.
- Garnish with a strawberry slice, a few blueberries or a small mint leaf.
- Serve immediately while cold and freshly blended.
-
🥭 Choose Ripe Mangoes: Use sweet, ripe mangoes for the best tropical flavour and natural sweetness.
-
🍓 Fresh or Frozen Berries: Use fresh or frozen strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
-
🧊 For A Thicker Smoothie: Use frozen fruit and reduce the amount of ice.
-
🥛 Adjust the Consistency: Add more milk for a thinner smoothie or extra yoghurt for a creamier texture.
-
🍯 Sweeten To Taste: Taste before adding honey, as ripe mangoes and berries may provide enough sweetness.
-
🌱 Dairy-Free Option: Substitute the milk and yoghurt with plant-based alternatives.
-
⚡ Blend Until Smooth: Blend for approximately 30–60 seconds, or until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
-
🥤 Serve Immediately: Enjoy chilled for the freshest flavour, smoothest texture, and brightest colour.
-
