- 4 Cups Ripe Mango Chunks - Approximately 660 g
- 2 Medium Ripe Avocados
- 3 Cups Chilled Milk - 720 ml
- 1 Cup Plain Greek Yoghurt - 240 g
- 3 Tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Honey - Optional
- 2 Cups Ice Cubes
- 6 Fresh Mint Leaves - Optional
- ½ Cup Cold Water - As Needed
Step 1: Prepare The Mangoes
- Wash the mangoes thoroughly under clean running water.
- Use a sharp knife to cut around each stone, then remove the skin and dice the flesh into manageable chunks.
- Measure approximately four cups of mango flesh.
- For an extra-cold smoothie, chill the fresh mango or use frozen chunks.
Choose sweet, ripe mangoes for the best flavour. If the mangoes are naturally sweet, you may not need additional honey.
Step 2: Prepare The Avocados
- Cut each avocado lengthways around the stone.
- Twist the halves gently apart and remove the stone carefully.
- Scoop the flesh into a bowl using a spoon.
- Discard any bruised or discoloured portions.
The avocado should be soft enough to mash gently with a fork. Ripe avocado blends more easily and gives your Mango Avocado Smoothie a silky, creamy consistency.
Step 3: Add The Ingredients To The Blender
- Pour the chilled milk into the blender jug first.
- Add the Greek yoghurt, prepared mango chunks and avocado flesh.
- Add the fresh lime juice.
- Include the honey, if using, followed by the mint leaves.
- Add the ice cubes last.
Adding liquid first helps the blender circulate the ingredients more easily. Do not exceed the maximum fill line on your blender.
Step 4: Blend Until Smooth And Creamy
- Secure the blender lid firmly.
- Start on a low setting for approximately 10–15 seconds.
- Increase to a medium-high or high setting and blend for another 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth.
- Stop the blender before scraping down the sides if any fruit sticks to the jug.
- Blend again briefly if necessary.
Your Mango Avocado Smoothie is ready when no noticeable chunks remain and the texture is thick, creamy and pourable.
Step 5: Taste And Adjust The Flavour
- Taste a small spoonful before serving.
- Add a little more lime juice if the flavour is too sweet.
- Add a small amount of honey if the mangoes are not sufficiently sweet.
- Pour in a splash of cold water or milk if the mixture is too thick.
- Blend for another 5–10 seconds to combine any adjustments.
Make small adjustments gradually to maintain the natural mango flavour without allowing the avocado to overpower the fruit.
Step 6: Pour, Garnish And Serve
- Pour the finished smoothie into six clean serving glasses.
- Garnish each glass with a small mango slice or a fresh mint leaf.
- Add a light sprinkle of lime zest for extra fragrance, if desired.
- Serve immediately while the smoothie is cold and creamy.
